V for Vendetta, V for Victory, V for Very very satisfied... vvv, v! V!

The best movie I've seen by far,
in quite some time it seems,
a triumphant choir did sing out,
after almost every scene,

The movie played, I did enjoy,
as moments passed me by,
the mintues turned to hours soon,
tis true that time does fly.

A movie that, did make me think,
and laugh and hope and smile,
to view a movie such as this,
it's really been a while.

Yes V, a place within my heart,
forever I shall covet,
your charm your wit, your epic hit,
and damn, I freaking loved it!

(that was ok, right? It was rushed and I wanted to get onto the review!)
--------------

Yes, I LIKED a movie. Wow! You haven't seen me review a movie I liked yet have you? No, I don't believe you have. Yes, this is a momentous day. Momentous? Am I using this right? Oh well. I'm too happy to care. Anyways, it IS rare for me to see a movie, that I truely, TRUELY enjoy. Most are bad, and a few are good, but rarely are they great. Perhaps I just have standards too high? Perhaps everyone else just has standards too low? Shall I begin the review now?

There's not really much I can say, without spoiling the movie. It stars Hugo Weaving (Matrix, Lord of the Rings), and Natle Portman (Star Wars, Garden State, and other movies I probably haven't seen), star in this near-future Great Britain. The world is a very different place, and there is one who wishes to stand against it. Weaving plays V, a rebel, a terrorist, a very vindictive virtuoso, void of vagrancy, and voraciously vigilant in his vengence. He does this far better than me, but then again, I was never one for thesaurauses (or spelling right now, it looks like). Without giving away too much, In the first 5 minutes, V rescues Evey from some not-so-virtuous police, trying to force themselves upon her. The world is a very different place, and it's not as grand as we would like to think. The country became something very different than it is now, and not so different than a Nazi-Germany. They began to purge it's citizens of 'impurities' and become a police state. V wishes to change all that, and will do whatever it takes to get it done.

The movie is about 2.5 hours long, and suprisingly, there's a lot of character developement and story, yet it doesn't feel that long and wordy. I'd have to say I am completely satisfied with this movie, from the storytelling, characters, motive, acting, music, writing, everything. The only detail that I had a problem with, was that some dialogue felt a bit rushed, like they should have paused a bit more between each line at times. Very minor, and it's just me being picky again, but still. The story is about freedom from oppression, freedom of opinion, freedom of speech, and freedom to live. Freedom, Forever.

And just because, we're in the mood, and again now, I have hope for movies, Silent Hill, An American Haunting, The Da Vinci Code, X-Men III, The Omen (666), and Saw III are on my list, for next must see movies. I think that's the order of release dates too. How convenient! *dances* Twas really a wonderful day for me, Viva la V! :D

*dances* ok, I guess it's not over yet, but damn, I want to get this post out, but I figure, I might as well post the word of the day here.

Yay for a movie that you finally liked!

When you said you were going to watch this, I asked my bro if he's heard of it and he asked if it's a movie of this old TV Series called "V" that has aliens in human skins, who eat WHITE MICE (they swallow those mice down their throat...).

Since you said this is a good movie, Imma go watch it when it gets released. :D

Btw, I saw some DVD peddlars selling pirated DVDs of UltraViolet when it's not even been released officially in our shores, but since you said it sucked ass, I didn't buy it. Lol.

I just watched this movie tonight too! I did a condensed review (along with 2 other movies I've recently watched). It's not as in-depth as yours though, so it's definitely lacking in areas.

Vengelyne: I'm amazed that I had that powerful of an effect on you for choice of movies, I'm very flattered, and if anyone was looking at me, I'd probably be blushing, hah.

embailer: I find my review to be lacking, and it's not a big deal, we're not competing are we? =P Anyways, I'm going to read your review right now. I can't wait!

Vengelyne! *gasp* the shame! Don't worry, I really had no idea when it was coming out, or what it was about at all, so I was pleasantly suprised, just like you :D
