Word 7 - Antidisestablishmentarianism
Main Entry: an·ti·dis·es·tab·lish·ment·ar·i·an·ism
Function: noun
1 : originally, opposition to the disestablishment of the Church of England, now opposition to the belief that there should no longer be an official church in a country
The given example is: "When people are asked for the longest word they know, they often say antidisestablishmentarianism.", but I want my example to be funnier. I know...
"I like to antidisestablishmentarianism words into sentences, even if I don't know what they mean." ... get it? hah? no? damn.
What kind of crazy people decide to make this a real word? I'd get tired of saying it and just make up a new word or something. Like an abreviation, like PEG, Pro Establisment Group or something. I mean, if there was an "establishment", and a group that defies it, the "Disestablisment", wouldn't the "Anti-disestablishment" be just aprt of the "Establishmnet"? Man, this is confusing, I think I'll go lay down a bit.
Note: There wasn't a definition for this word on the basic dictionary at www.m-w.com (it's probably in the unabridged), so I had to use dictionary.com which was not nearly as nice.
