Pain, Gain, and Travel

Pain: I fell off the brick wall in front of my house late friday night, and scraped my knee pretty badly, a 8 inches of cuts across my leg, think if you held a brick with the wide side vertical, and scraped the corner across your leg, you'd have a lot of little scrapes, not one big deep one. You can also think like I scraped my leg across the floor, from left to right... floor being the rocky street. I was pretty much out of it the rest of friday, and had to draft Saturday for Time Spiral.

Gain: Time Spiral prerelease was fun (Saturday), but didn't even stay to play the whole thing (big miscommunication error, oh well), but we got out alright. There was 6 of us, and one guy got 10 packs for placing in the 3rd bracket (1st~4th was bracket one, 5th~12 was bracket 2, 13~16 was bracket 3... I think). Another freind got 3 free packs from a random drawing. All in all, it was a good time, met some good players (surprisingly young), and some stuck up players (surprisingly not so young), and some freinds from college (during my brief, brief stay there).

I did a Two-headed giant game with my friend Nathan, and that format proved to be much harder to prepare for than regular formats. Deckbuilding was a LOT harder, and it was a lot harder preparing for what the other players would play. We got a Jaya (fire fire hot hot burn burn!), The Thrull Breeder (I forgot his name), and some other good cards, but too lazy to look up. Me and my freind split the cards, (which decks we used) but this is an unofficial split, when next weekend comes around, we're going to get more cards, so we'll split it on that day. In any case, we're not too worried, we're pretty laid back about what cards we keep and share.

Travel: Driving to Vegas tomorrow. Need I say more? =P

City of Sin, back again

I was able to take Monday through Thursday off, couple that with the friday and saturday I normaly get off, and I got 6 days off of fun in the Las Vegas. Can I afford 5 nights? I'll do my best. If it's close to $100 a night, I'll be fine, but it's getting pricy, and I need to save up. Looks like there'll be little to no money to spend in October if I want to save up for my November. <3

Wii + random + SHIT WHAT THE FUCK

Nintendo's Wii is scheduled for November 19th for US release at $250. *ponders*... *looks at countdown meter* Oh sh*t! That's my birthday! *does a little dance* Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!! That is all.

You're the man now dog is a fairly popular, yet unknown website (paradox?). What's the site about? Well, I'm not sure. Take a picture. Take a sound. Put it together, and make a website about it. Some random fun ones are You are not the father! YES! and Star Wars lines in reverse, both kind of based on the same thing. There are dozens of fads and spin offs, all starting with Finding Forester. What? Yeah, seriously. That movie. I know, it sounds crazy. No, I'm not lying. What? Well screw you then, you don't have to believe me! Lets you and me go at it!

Go enjoy yourself. And if you're lucky, you can find a not safe for work version. *cough*

A lolita meeting a Space Marine. Oh the adventures they'll have together! *teehee* and NO I didn't mean anything dirty by that. =( YOU PERVERTS ... ... ... <3

Edit: SHIT WHAT THE FUCK

They moved the film festival that I'm working on from Early November to November 17~19... WHAT A COINCIDENCE. Shit, I'm taking time off from work regardless of what's happening, I can't deal with that. I got a 21st birthday to celebrate and a girlfriend to visit (in a sinful city, I might add).

Plus, if I have a Wii preordered, I'll probably want to get that taken care of too. Forget work, work can wait. Life happens.

Didn't make the cut

Checking the forums on Magic, I found that invitations to the next wave was sent out last friday. I guess I didn't make it, oh well. On the good side, I get to stay in LA with my freinds. On the bad side, LA sucks =P lol, they post the next wave of the contest on Thursday I believe. Best wishes to those who made it.

*tear*

My eldest dog, Tiger, the Chow, is going to see the vet tomorrow. He's not been feeling good lately, and I can understand why. He's over 10 years old, and he's not a puppy any longer. I hope he's ok, he couldn't even get up to eat dinner tonight, even when we placed it right in front of him. He just layed there. =/

*deep sigh*

That's him in the back, the other one is Sophie. Looking at this picture from last year, I can see how muc he's changed. He's thinner, his fur isn't nearly as vibrant, and he's sitting upright without any help. Now a days, he's usually leaning on something or laying on his side. I don't have much to say, other than what's already been said. I hope everything turns out ok. Everyone has to die sometime, I just hope it isn't his time yet.

Tragic Cast, Revisited

I use to have a blog (which still exists but dormant) which was written from the different perspectives in my mind, the different sides of me. I've given them names to describe them. I would use them as an outlet for my thoughts, and writing through these characters drew out a more interesting dialogue than just one view, even though it was all in my head. I think I'll revive them and bring them up now and then, see how it works.

Andrew, he is Empathy and Emotion.
Hate, she is Fear and Distrust.
Faith, she is Love and Trust.

OMFG I think I just sh*t my pants

Congratulations! You have made it to step two of the interview process for The Great Designer Search, the exam round. Here’s how it’s going to work. At the end of this email is a link to a test that will go live on the Wednesday night update (9pm PST/12am EST Wednesday September 6th – Wednesday night/Thursday morning). This link is secret and cannot be accessed from the magicthegathering.com front page. The test will be up for exactly 24 hours.

--------------------------------------------

Oh my fucking god. I can't believe it. Excuse me as I go study very fucking hard for the next 4 days in preparation... also, I need to change my pants. *sniff sniff* =(

Edit: Update: "
Finally, an update on The Great Designer Search. We had over one thousand valid entries (1061 I believe), which is quite incredible when you take into account how hard we made the first step. This has broken the Wizards record for the most people applying for a single job (previously set by the Creative Writer job that Matt Cavotta got). Step two is in the works as we speak. I'll keep you updated as things move along." - Mark Rosewater
