Paranoia + Redirecting Blame

(click for larger image)

This time it's not about rock music, movies, it's not about video games, it's not about anime, it's about manga. Yes, this time, MANGA is to blame for all the problems with our children. Tis not the mistakes of parents, family, freinds, but of course, it must be SOME outside source. Indeed, we are in a dreadful time, where children are magically influenced by any negative (or implied negative) sources, and they are immedaitely consumed by it, and forced to commit acts against their will! Cry Foul! How dare they! =_= yes yes... I'm a bit angry. I am very against this American "Pass the Blame" trend that's just so easy to pick up on. "Glen Owen: Educuation Corespondent" indeed. Below is something a freind sent me, and I find that it fits so well. It's easy! Fill in the blanks accordingly, and use it in any attack against anything!

Here's the ad-lib many use to put a spin on "recent teen trends":

________: Is it really as innocent as it seems? What your children are doing with ________ may cause more reason for concern than other factors in society today. ________ has established itself as a popular medium with teens, but blatantly glorifies sex, murder, and other values that are clearly against our standard of morality.

"I'm a parent of a child who's nearly obsessed with ________ and I never knew the dangers until I really opened my eyes to it. It's shocking and should be called to attention," says one concerned parent. "________ is wrong, it should be banned. We don't need our childen indulging themselves with ________ and we certainly need to do something about it through legislation."

"I never understood the fascination with ________, but I know it should concern a lot more parents than it does right now. We need to raise the attention on ________ so that more children don't succumb to the evil that is ________ or are influenced negatively by it," says a Congressional representative, quoted under condition of anonymity. "We need to start taking action against ________ now. Not in a month, not in a week, now."

A peer who loves ________ says that adults are always "trying to crash the party" and not looking into issues that matter. However, it does seem ________ has significant effects on children and teenagers, and it should be a detail no one forgets about the next time they see ________ in their own household.

So ask yourself next time you catch your child enjoying ________, are the underlying dangers really worth it?

Serious comment: News/Real life is what screws kids up, not anything they watch or read (some effect but meh, nothing in comparison to life)

Comedic comment: insert "fruit" or "Poki" (i figure everyone will like that)
oh madlibs. so funny

Indeed. The news (in American anyways) invests in fear as it's selling point, not news. Fear is easy to create, and easy to control. Fear? Fear of what? Fear of anything! Well, anything that could help boost ratings and sell products.

Buy this! Your LIFE depends on it! Watch this, it could save your LIFE! Are you at risk for pain, suffering, or even DEATH? etc etc. It sickens me. Passing the buck isn't going to solve the problem, it's just more fear to redirect your attention for the momment, all the while, they're profiting from the very thing you're against. Bravo. /rant

Look at it this way...

I know lots of people (including myself) who have grown up playing video games like mortal combat, watched movies like Street Fighter and Spriggan and Akira and even Kyte. But you don't see me going off and killing this girls parents, only to train her to be an assassin and totally dependant on me and lets me rape her do you (Kyte)?

It's bullshit. They can't blame their bad parenting so they blame everything else. HYPOCRITES!

ironically, im listenin to marilyn manson again and we all know how many times the blame has been conveniently shifted to musicians as well.

in my opinion, its the parents who should be blamed. theres a thousand and one reasons your kids are fucked up. start with yourself, why dont you ?

Pass-the-buck-land! Where nobody is ever to blame! Here, it's easy, anybody can do it, even kids!

"Timmy, who spilled the milk?"
"Josh did."

wow!

"Mr Peters, you stabbed your mother with a scrwedriver 12 times."
"Umm... I listen to rock music and play video games."

=_________= *sigh* *cough* Passing the buck, an American past time, not strictly limited to Americans. I also hate how people in the United States can say American and reffer to theimselves, because there is like, two continents with the same name. Ok, I'm just generally ticked off, ^_^: sorry.
